The Eagle Elite are the personal weapon of King Volek I of Gesnor-the closed fist, if you will. They originated from the thirty men that destroyed the ruling Pick Council in a bloody coup that brought Volek to power in 487.
Over the years, they had grown in number. In addition to being Volek's honor guard, they were deployed throughout Gesnor (and in Thorin and Palrim as well). They were an impressive specially trained and loyal military group.
On the outside they acted carefully and with respectful for law.On the inside they had a different agenda. They were charged with the continued strength of Volek's rule. To this end they opposed any critical speech about him or his reign. They were known to be ruthless.
Their very presence intimidated the citizens of Gesnor. Among their other directives were to root out and destroy any of the surviving Picks (Councilmen) and the underground Pick movement that strove to return them to power.
Also, they were to undermine the Veldron Order whenever possible. They also tried to eliminate any resistance to the Three Peaks Accord at home as well as in Palrim and Thorin. Any one from outside the Three Peeks Accord was viewed with suspicion.
They usually traveled alone or in small groups sometimes with other Gesnor or Three Peaks Accord military units. They had dominion over all branches of Gesnor military.
Present Since Volek’s death in the spring of 509, the Eagle Elite have been exerting themselves even stronger than previously, in order to maintain the leadership and power that they had under Volek’s reign.
